Overall Responsibilities

We are looking for a creative Graphic designer with up-to-date knowledge to interpret our needs and to design solutions with high visual impact. You will work on a variety of products, including websites, newspapers, product packaging, exhibitions, corporate identity etc. and you will cooperate with the rest of our team.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Responsible for design and layout of the monthly publication, Cow Country News
  • Working with the Kentucky Beef Council to provide print and digital advertising content, educational materials geared towards producers and consumers as well as booth design from concept to completion
  • Assist with video production as needed
  • Schedule project implementation and define budget constraints
  • Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software
  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts
  • Prepare rough drafts and present your ideas
  • Amend final designs to clients comments and gain full approval
  • Work as part of a team with others in the office
Consults With
  • The coordinator will be expected to work independently, but under the direction of the Executive Vice-President and Publication Coordinator
  • Daily activities are conducted with a high degree of independence. The position is advised and consulted on matters of urgency, sensitivity, or controversy
  • Proven graphic designing experience
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc)
  • Highly proficient in all design aspects
  • Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines
  • Flexibility
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with all staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters may be required
